What’s the difference between a pickle and a pickled cucumber?

Article Tools

A cucumber is a fresh vegetable (actually a fruit in botanical terms). A pickle can be any food that has been pickled usually in either salt or vinegar or a mixture of both, plus other flavors and sometimes sugar in order to preserve them. Cucumbers are cucumbers and pickles are just pickled cucumbers. Jun 2, 2019
