Counter to what others say, I have had good experiences at Menards Monona. Last week I had a problem with an order of doors where the manufacturer had changed the hinges from brass to nickel. The problem is I already had 5 doors installed with brass hinges.
When I explained the problem to the clerk in the windows department, he talked to his supervisor and the net result was they provided hinge sets for five doors in brass to replace the nickel at no charge. That is pretty great, I think.
Let me tell you about my experience working for the Monona Menards, and why the general manager, Mark Baker, is a lazy sloth. But, the turnover rate is so high that they cannot retain knowledgeable employees.
Don’t expect even acceptable customer service at this store. If you know exactly what materials you need for your job, shopping at this store is an economical choice. Mark Baker is easily the most incompetent manager I have worked for.

How can someone mysteriously receive a phone call every time they are needed to watch the door? Mark would never offer to help someone load or unload, which seems shitty. Oh, and he spells like someone with a middle-school education. Tried to shop local instead of always going to Home Depot, but won’t be(…)
