This week we’ve been busy receiving entries, sponsorships, advertising and vendors. Thank you all so much – have a great weekend and see you in a few short weeks!
In the past week, we’ve been busy in the office receiving entries and preparing to mail out sponsorship letters – check out our website for a list of compeitors and sponsors!! www.carriageclassic.com
The 2015 Prize Lists were mailed last week via US Postal Service Bulk Rate mailing – we have already received our first entry – thank you to Dottie Elfers!!!
On this Father’s Day 2015, we salute the great fathers that make the show possible – “Thanks Dads!!”
It was an historic day in equestrian sports today – we congratulate the team that helped American Pharoah win the Belmont Stakes and the become the horse to break the longest drought in the thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown!! Kudos to Zayat Stables, Bob Baffert, Victor Espinoza, and American Pharoah!!
With a relatively dry spring thus far (no flooding) – the main arena is undergoing a little renovation – the dip in the middle was filled today and the foundations along the river were covered a week or so ago! Should make for a more smooth trip around the show ring this September!!
It’s the second Sunday of May, a day to salute all the hard working mothers!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the “horse-show moms” that make Villa Louis Carriage Classic a great family!
Officials – Judges: Muffy Seaton, Toddy Hunter, Jessica Axelsson; Technical Delegate: Ed Young – stay tuned for more updates on the 2015 show!!
Today is a day to give thanks for all of the wonderful friends (2-legged and 4-legged) and families!!
Today the grounds crew did a bang-up job – all of the obstacle courses are put away, the ring and all the fencing is stowed for another year – all that remains are the burgundy and white flags, a few tables in the food tent and the tents which all will be gone tomorrow night – we do have quite a few items in the “found” pile of the lost and found – let us know if you are missing anything (bicycles, whips, cameras, radios, glasses, harness pieces, racks, etc.)
A couple of photos of the 2014 VLCC Picnic class winner – Charlene Wade. She won both the judge’s selection and the spectator’s choice award!!
There’s still a bit of work to be done here in at Villa Louis as we clean up and put to bed the 2014 VLCC – there are hundreds of volunteers that make things run well – we salute and thank them for their time and dedication to the event!!! Three cheers for the VLCC volunteers!!!
A shiny jewel along the mighty Mississippi, with a welcome mat laid out for all, it’s the place to be the second weekend of September. More fun than a barrel of monkeys.
