Potting class success for a second year!
We did our first class there, it was fantastic!!!!!!! They are all so knowledgeable, and patient and really want you to succeed in your planting!!!! Thanks to Paul for answering our 1000 questions!!!! We WILL be Back.
Beautiful flowers and excellent service. They have a huge variety to choose from at reasonable cost. Jenny was so helpful and very pleasant.
I was in awe on our wedding day. The arrangements were outstanding and beyond reasonably priced.

We have a pretty ugly forecast for Saturday, high temps in the 50’s and wind gusting up to 35 mph. Although it won’t freeze this kind of weather will wind whip your plants, especially if they just came out of the greenhouse. If it were me I would pull my plants into the garage, or at least to the side of the house protected from the wind.
Our hours for Memorial Day weekend are: Friday 8 am – 7 pm Saturday 8 am – 5 pm Sunday 10 am – 5 pm Monday 8 am – 5 pm
Tuesday night has a low of 38 forecast. We are going to prepare for frost here at Groth’s. The forecast looks good as far as low temps go the rest of the 10 day forecast.
We had two more shipments of perennials arrive this week so we have lots of nice plants to choose from.
If you have to cover plants outside tonight be sure to use cloth material. Plastic does not protect your plants.
We are looking at some low temps on Tuesday and Wednesday night. They have 37 and 39 forecast for those nights. We will be preparing for frost both nights. I think it would be a good idea to take your plants into the garage both nights.
We have a large variety of containers looking good for Mother’s day. Kourtney is holding a 15″ Calliope Dark Rd Geranium Pot, and the container on the bench is an example of a combination for sun in a 15″ pot.
Our citrus plants have arrived, they are about 18″ tall and in an 8″ hexagon pot. I have Meyer Lemons and Mexican Limes.
Our planting classes for the 2015 came to a close on Sunday. We would like to thank everyone who planted this year, for helping to make them such a huge success. We will be sure to take good care of your plants for you.
Plant fest is off to a great star, t… Thank you to all those that have attended so far. If you have any pictures of your masterpieces planted during class, please share them on our fb page. A few spots left open at upcoming sessions, at www.grothscountrygardens.com
Sorry our website is down, the problem is on the providers end and will hopefully be fixed soon. For planting class info please call 262-377-0986. Thank you.
This beauty is also planted for a sunny area. We have four varieties in this container: petunia Supertunia Black Cherry, calibrachoa Superbells Frostfire, portulaca Mojave Tangerine, and verbena Superbena Royale Red.
This combo is in a 14 inch pot and is planted for sun. It contains petunia Sun Spun Purple Star, calibrachoa Superbells Sweet Tart, portulaca Mojave Tangerine, and the new lobularia Dark Knight.
We just received our shipment of orchids, and the look great. Lots of plants with multiple flower spikes.
In this combo we used a lantana tree for the thriller, and then planted petunia Flash Mob Redtastic, lobularia Frosty Knight, and verbena Aztec Blue Velvet. This combo will perform best in full sun.
Our tropicals have arrived from Florida, and are looking great. Pictured below on the left: assorted bromeliads. And on the right top to bottom: a brand new multicolored hibiscus that is simply labeled orange, Trade Winds Pink hibiscus, hibiscus Yellow Jaune.
We will be carrying these 2 new Flash Mob petunias from Ball seed this year. Flash Mob Bluerific on the left and Redtastic on the right. These petunias have a mounding/semi trailing habit. They will trail about 20 inches eventually. As with all petunias they will grow best in full sun.
NEw Supertunia Black Cherry mixed with Supertunia Mini Silver. We are very impressed with Black Cherry’s flower power so far.
For anyone looking for a little outdoor color we have some pansy bowls that are coloring up nicely right now. Based on the 10 day weather forecast I would feel comfortable leaving pansies outside for good star, ting this Saturday. Pansies are very cold tolerant and actually perform best under cooler conditions.
This combo will perform best in full shade to part sun. It contains Diamond Frost, double impatien Rockapulco Coral Reef, oxalis Charmed Wine, torenia Summer Wave Gold Bouquet.
