Today is the 11th Annual LDF Lion’s Club Brewfest at Torpy Park in Minocqua from 1pm to 5pm! This is a special event for me because I love the Lion’s Club! My grandfather was involved in his local Lion’s Club for over 47 years!!! He won the prestigious Melvin Jones Service award from his fellow peers! And scholarships have been given in his name in his local community. Tony and I always sponsor the Lion’s Club Brew fest. These funds stay local in our community and it i. s their biggest fundraiser! It’s a great cause and you can drink beer and have fun while helping the Northwoods! Want to know what’s even better than drinking beer in the Northwoods, while supporting such a great group? Eating at Anthony’s when you are finished! So get out and support our community, drink some beer and eat some great food! See you later! Tony and I went for a ride this morning. Stopped at the Minocqua farmer’s market. Picked up a few things. Enjoyed the gorgeous weather and a margarita. Now, just relaxing before heading into work. Tonight, we are going to special BLUE GILL FILETS!! Bluegill with a light cornmeal breading and deep fried until golden brown. I am behind the bar making all your fun drink libations! Try a cucumber gin lemonade. Trust me, you WILL like it. It has cucumbers and gin and lemons and all that fun stuff!! Or an old fashion! Happy Fourth of July Weekend!!! We wish you all a safe, happy, healthy 4th. Just a friendly reminder as we approach the holiday weekend and the true star, t to the summer season in the Northwood’s. Please be kind to your server, bartender, cashier, front desk person, busser, taxi driver, hotel housekeeper, and all the others in the service industry. We live here, we work hard, especially this time of year. Lots of us are putting in crazy hours, lots of us work more tha. n 1 job, remember we are sacrificing time with our families so you can spend time with yours. We want your experience in the Northwood’s to be the best it can possibly be! So be patient in the grocery store line, be patient in the restaurant, or Ice cream parlor, be nice in the bar’s , they are busy too. If you take your time, breath the Northwoods fresh air, and ENJOY, I mean, sit back, relax, really ENJOY the moment, we can give you the best vacation, with great hospitality, while you enjoy the Northwood’s and your families. With that being said. . We hope you relax, enjoy, site-see, EAT, drink, be merry, light fireworks, have camp fires, make smore’s, listen to kids run and giggle, view the lake, grill out, go boating, swim, and lostly. . LIVE! LAUGH! LOVE! and EAT!!! Happy Weekend! We love you all!!!

We are humming along being open 7 days a week! Tony and I just mentioned that we are not too tired yet. YET!! smile emoticon We are filling up fast on the 3rd of July. So if you want to eat on the 3rd, make your reservation soon. Also, we will be OPEN on the 4th of July. Tonight we have filet and shrimp for our special this evening!

Went strawberry picking yesterday. Making homemade Jam today!!!! I’ll have some for sale at the restaurant! Don’t forget today’s special is Linguini and Clam sauce with soup or salad!

We have the garden planted and ready to go. That is the fresh food we serve. Hand-picked organic, no chemicals, fresh food for you. Also, our steaks are CERTIFIED Angus Beef. Less than 1% of all beef qualifies. We are the ONLY restaurant in the area that sells this quality of beef. All of our sauces are prepared individually from scratch per order. Some new specials coming this week! This is Wiener schnitzel with spaetzle with a mushroom gravy. Look great and tastes great too!

Tonight, we have some Father’s Day specials, we have linguini with clam sauce. Porterhouse steak with a bleu cheese butter. So make a reservation and treat your dad to the best there is!!!

Big shout out to Happy Joe from Happy’s Junkyard for saving the day. He came through and got me some bar picks in a pinch. This is what living the Northwoods is all about. Small businesses helping other small businesses. If you see Happy Joe on the street or in his bar, which I highly recommend, it really is one of my favorite bar’s in the area, (but I’m quirky like that) tell him we sent you in, and thank the superhero Happy Joe for the pink fighting swords!!!

Tonight: Linguini and Clam Sauce Linguini tossed with clams, white wine, butter, topped with fresh basil and parmesan cheese. Steak Ala Anthony O. Tenderloin Filet topped with a crab cake, pan seared scallop, fresh asparagus, and Bearnaise sauce. YUM!! We also have homemade Key Lime pie, and home made Cannoli’s! Cannoli’s are for a limited time only! And our featured wine of the evening is. San Giuseppe Chianti Reserve- Italy, Made from the Sangiovese grapes and grown in the classic region, aged in Oak for 3 years. Thank you all for letting us be closed yesterday to enjoy our son, Quinten’s 8th grade graduation. Family time is very important to us. It was a whirlwind and crazy day for all of us. Quin had a great time, I made 100+ cupcakes for their party and never got pictures of them. We did however get a ton of pictures of the lad and his friends. We are excited to have a HS Freshman on our hands. Remember that little guy that could barely see over the bar? Wow! Time flies!!! S. pecials for tonight: $3.00 old Fashions!
