Can I waterproof wood?

Article Tools

To waterproof wood, start by sanding it with fine grit sandpaper to remove any imperfections and prep the surface. Then, use a rag to apply an even coat of linseed oil, walnut oil, or tung oil to the wood and let it cure for 24 hours. When you’re finished, let the wood cure for several days before using it.
