Nehring’s Sendik’s on Downer.
Meat and hot bar items are of okay price, as is the produce. Most of their grocery items (that you can find at any major supermarket) are literally DOUBLE the price. Save your money and shop elsewhere. Quality produce and meats.
If you don’t feel like paying the high prices to eat out and prefer to make your own meals, come here. Extremely clean store, friendly staff, and nicely organized.
Not to mention the mouthwatering desserts …. They’re re-doing the interior, have REALLY upped the quality of the produce, and apparently will be introducing a wine bar where the current flower shop is located.
Most produce is over ripe and needs to be tossed.
Meat department is just ok.
The only pre-made food I buy is the broccoli slaw. Had a really bad batch of lasagna a year ago and that was the last hot food I’ve bought. One glaring issue is nothing is local save for a few cheeses.
With all the availability of locally grown food I don’t get why they still stock only produce from everywhere but Wisconsin. The store needs a good cleaning or remodel and they need to buy more local food when in season. That would keep me from going to Whole Foods 90% of the time. The new owners have done an excellent job remodeling and have made each department fresh and full.
