I was on a business trip to Milwaukee and had a few hours before my next meeting. My hotel had suggested this museum as a must see if that was of intertest. I have to say that I have been to quite a few museums and this was one was great. They had some works by Bauhaus ceramicist Grete Marks, and excellent photography exibit that was ending but I was told their will be a small montage that will stay permanently. They have some interactive В opportunities for children as well.

Overall I give this museum 4 stars. It is so interesting to the mind and heart to spend a few minutes at various museums in different cities. It just gives me a sense of time and how important it is to keep these small treasures for future generations.

This is one of the finest Museums in the Midwest, especially the design of the building.

I never get to just enjoy myself with a day just for me. I decided to FINALLY check out the museum and I am sad it took me so long to get there. It is gorgeous inside! The art is so beautiful and the environment is so relaxing. I WILL be making another trip VERY soon!

Beautiful building designed by the world renowned Santiago Calatrava. В If you don't know this famous Spanish architect yet, shame on you! В Google his works, which number many of the notable European architectural landmarks from recent years. В The museum carries a nautical theme and resembles a majestic white sailboat from the future. В It's juxtaposed perfectly on the shores of Lake Michigan and you may notice how the building can actually "open it's sails". В The museum itself hosts many beautiful temporary and permanent displays. From every major period, classical to modern, you will find almost every major artist here. В The American artists are particularly well represented, and Georgia O'Keefe fans will be very happy with her collection here. В I am particularly fond of the Chiluly blown glass art, but not sure if it's still there at the moment. В Regardless, this is one of the more aesthetically pleasing and inspiring places to visit in Milwaukee and sure to impress whomever you bring here! В Make sure you visit and maybe spend the rest of your day around the lake or downtown as well. В Enjoy!

I had to visit Milwaukee for work, and we had a free day so I decided to tour the museum. В It was beautiful starting from the exterior. В The architecture is fabulous and eye catching. В Inside, there is such a wide range of artwork to satisfy everyone's interests! В The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. В Will definitely return if I am back in the area!

If you are a Milw. resident you need to go on Monday's its FREE. В Great place to take kids of all ages. В Be sure to check when the "kid" art room is open, usually on weekends. В Kids get a chance to be artists while enjoying some of the art as well. В I took my 5 year old, and 3 – 12 year old girls and we all had a great afternoon. В We packed a lunch and ate outside by the water then went inside and enjoyed the art that THEY were interested in, I let them guide the way so as to not frustrate them. В Then we did some hands on art activities, all in all a great way to spend an afternoon in Milwaukee! В Great place for photos too, we took our High School graduate there and took pictures with her cap and gown on, SUPER COOL!
